Shipston Bookfest

 Events

This September, the first-ever Shipston Bookfest launches with a sparkling line up of local and nationally-recognized authors, offering a range of events and workshops.

Shipston Bookfest is a community run, not-for-profit festival celebrating books and the joys of reading. Taking place between 21st and 29th September 2024 in venues across Shipston-on-Stour, events cover everything from crime and psychological thrillers to gardening and rom-coms. Whether you’re a devoted bookworm or simply looking for a different way to spend your time, we hope there is something for you!

Highlights include (but are definitely not limited to!):

  • Adele Parks, Sunday Times multi-million copy bestselling author, talking about her latest novel, The First Wife’s Shadow
  • Sue Law, with the Shipston Amateur Dramatics Society dramatizing her book, The Dark Side of the Cut
  • Angela Dandy, author of The Silveries, hosting a special literary lunch at the Bower House and releasing her most recent title, The Silver Lining, at the event for us
  • PJ Ellis talking about his debut romantic comedy, Love and Other Scams: a novel that expertly blends romance, comedy, and heist adventure
  • Prue Leith discussing the ups and downs of her career, recent TV roles and new cookery book: Life’s Too Short to Stuff a Mushroom
  • And, for budding writers, a creative workshop on how to get published with Sophie Flynn, author of four novels and managing director of Jericho Writers
